Four State Regional Invitation
The Arkansas Science Teachers Association (ASTA) presents the "Educators’ Technology Conference 2008" for all K-16 administrators, teachers, professors, technology coordinators, media specialists, and vocational educators in a four-state area (Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas) July 31 – August 1, 2008, at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers, Arkansas. The conference hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how to integrate different technologies across the curriculum while being exposed to the latest hardware, software and successful strategies on student technology use, plus school networking, scheduling, calling systems etc. There will be sessions and exhibits for:
Administrators - that will feature school schedules, school timers, parent calling systems, portfolios, student achievement, and learning communities.
Instructional Technology - that will feature technology for teachers to enhance instruction with white boards, hand-held computers, lab probes, virtual libraries, instructional software, and other media.
Distance Learning - that will feature opportunities to view instruction, virtual field trips, and e-conferencing.
Networking - that will feature networking issues, problems and solutions.
Professional Development Credit - that will link to state and national standards so that attendees are awarded professional development hours for what they attend.
Rogers, Arkansas is located in an urban area that is in the middle of a four state region that has abundant recreation, scenic areas and shopping near the Center. The Hammons Center http://www.embassysuitesnwa.com/meetings.aspx is located next to the Embassy Suites on Interstate 71 that connects with Interstate 44 to the north and is less than 20 minutes from the large Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport, 479-205-1000, (serving American, Continental, NWA, Delta, United, and US Airways).

Early Bird registration deadline is July 15th, 2008 (Two-day Registration: $50.00; One-day registration: $35.00). After July 15th, the two-day registration is $75.00 and one-day registration is $50.00. See the registration information below.
On-site registration will be open Wed July 30 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thur July 31 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Fri Aug 1, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Wireless internet service will be provided throughout the entire conference area.
