Nonprofit Resources - VISTA

Nonprofit Resources, Inc. (NRI) invites applications for two AmeriCorps VISTA positions.

The mission of NRI is to strengthen, support and enhance the capacity of Arkansas' nonprofit organizations to fulfill their missions. NRI has a fast paced work environment and places a strong emphasis on teamwork. Both VISTAs will work closely with NRI staff on the development of their programs, and are expected to learn on the job many of the skills they will need.

The two positions available are an Information Coordinator, to manage the delivery of information about training, funding and other topics of interest to the nonprofit community, and a Project Coordinator, to oversee the development of a Community Resource Development training program designed to increase community support of nonprofit activities.

Duties include:

Information Coordinator

Assist NRI staff with an assessment of Arkansas nonprofits to identify information needs and preferred methods of acquiring information.

• Expand and Update NRI's website.
• Assist with the preparation of NRI publications.
• Assist with the preparation of fact sheets, articles, and other printed or electronic information as requested by nonprofits.
• Devise and implement a system for matching organizations and projects with appropriate funding sources.
• Assist NRI staff with responding to specific inquiries from nonprofits.

Program Coordinator (Community Resource Development - CRD)

Research, collect and prepare information about various methods of CRD including membership development, direct mail, personal solicitation, special events, corporate partnerships, cause related marketing and bequests.

• Assist NRI staff and board with the development of a diversified CRD plan.
• Assist with the implementation of the plan.
• Assist with the development of a training curriculum and related materials and tools for CRD.
• Organize and coordinate CRD training.

As members of AmeriCorps, the National Service Corps, the VISTAs will receive a nominal living stipend and a $4,700 education allowance at the completion of their service. The applicant must complete an AmeriCorps VISTA application, available from Nonprofit Resources and the Corporation for National Service.
