Official Tarzan and ERB Websites
Tarzan.com -- A great, informative website for Tarzan and Edgar Rice Burroughs fans, managed by the one and only Bill Hillman of ERBzine.com
Tarzan.org -- A companion site for Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., including the excellent "History of Tarzan". Also managed by Bill Hillman.
ERBzine.com -- The official ERB tribute and weekly webzine site. None of us can quite comprehend how Bill Hillman manages to keep this extremely vast and comprehensive site cranking out interesting content and information week after week! If you are looking for information on Edgar Rice Burroughs or his works, you are bound to find something here!
Tarzan and ERB Fansites - General
ERBlist.com -- The largest ERB listserv on the Internet, run by Bruce Bozarth (Tangor). Many of the members take on personas based on ERB characters (I'm "The Ape-Man", naturally... haha). Here you can mingle and communicate with some pretty important and knowledgeable folks, including professors, authors, and artists! Highly recommended for hardcore ERB enthusiasts!
Korak in Pal-ul-don -- A subsection of ERBList.com, authored by my friend and fellow Little Rock resident Steve "Korak" Allsup. Steve is a master ERB collector, and has spent much time summarizing the Gold Key and DC "Korak" comics, issue-by-issue. He's also just as determined to keep himself in fighting shape as I am, befitting our ERBList personas.
Tarzan of the Internet -- An excellent and very extensive fansite, run by Ed Stephan, containing information on just about anything Tarzan-related. This site also includes many links to other related websites and articles. I reference it frequently when I'm doing research.
The Dream Vaults of Opar -- A section of StrangeExcusions.com, the website of publisher and author Patrick H. Adkins. The simple and inviting look of Dream Vaults gives me the quiet and warm feeling of being tucked away in a small library on a snowy day, where I enjoy reading the many great articles while sipping on a cup of hot tea.
von Horst's Pellucidar -- A thorough look into the world and history of Pellucidar, thorough books, comics, film and television. Anything and everything from the Earth's Core, with your tour guide, von Horst!
Tarzan and ERB Fansites - Movies and Actors
TarzanMovieGuide.com -- Matt Winans' extensive website containing reviews of every Tarzan film you can imagine -- authorized and unauthorized. There are also sections dedicated to Tarzan in television, Bomba the Jungle Boy, and even a few interviews. One of the best resources for Tarzan film fans on the Internet!
Brian's Drive-In Theater -- Another favorite site of mine, run by Brian J. Walker, containing an entire section of information on Tarzan film actors. Packed full of interesting information and photos!
My Mother's Tarzan -- A third, thoroughly enjoyable tour through the history of Tarzan in cinema, authored by Robert (Bob) Callaghan.
Denny Miller's Official Website -- Home of the nicest former Tarzan actor that could ever be. Read about Denny's impressive resume' in film and television, and while you are there, be sure to visit his store and pick up some personalized photos, or a copy of his book "Didn't You Used To Be What's His Name?"
JungleWorld.org -- Official website of Tarzan actor Steve Hawkes (Steve Sipek). Steve has become very well known for his efforts to shelter and protect a variety of big cats which have been mistreated by their previous owners.
ERB Book and Reading Resources
ERBville Press -- Publisher Jerry L. Schneider's site, where reprinted ERB public domain titles can be found and purchased, along with Jerry's own reference works, which include the "Edgar Rice Burroughs and the Silver Screen" series.
BlackMask.com -- An excellent source for public domain ERB e-texts, available in several formats. E-texts are perfect for reference and research, as you can quickly scan the chapters for that elusive quote or passage you are struggling to remember. I depend on them!
Project Gutenberg -- Another great source for public domain ERB novels, available in e-text and MP3 formats (read in a synthesized human voice), segmented by chapter. I highly recommend the MP3 format, using a portable MP3 player while on the go. The perfect way to get started with the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs, for free!
mp3CDbooks.com -- You want ERB MP3 books read with the most realistic synthesized human voice available, on CDs with excellent artwork? Here's the place to go! You can't beat the price, and if you can't find it here, you probably can't find it anywhere.
